ROSE

By: Sultan

I heard the silence, of the wind that blows

And I saw the hopping, of rabbits into burrows

I shouted out hello, but heard only echoes

Not a soul in sight, in that beauty of meadows

In the distance I heard, the faint sounds of hellos

Coming from afar, near a flock of cheerful sparrows

I raced to the sound, to get a sight from up-close

A beauty I found, which from the silence arose

To my life this beauty, shines a brightness that glows

Bringing joy and happiness, keeping me always on my toes

Yet the thorns so sharp, still pierce me deep like arrows

But I gladly hold on tight, till forever this beautiful rose
